I agree with your comment. It is easy to fall into our own preferred schemas because....that's what they do!

I also thought it was a thought provoking session.

By far the most enlightening presentation I've heard in years.

He also mentioned that being open to schemas different from our own personal interpretations will help in building a brand... That bit of advice proved to be a key element in some recent successes.

Sorry for the delayed response. We don't usually track posts this old.

Anyway, there is a Ruby on Rails plugin called CommunityEngine that you should look into to see if it fits your needs. You can get more info here: http://communityengine.org/

Analytics are extremely inportant to brands that we work with. Not only does it measure the health of the community, it is also related to ROI and KPI calculations.

Thanks!

2 questions:

How important are analytic tools tied to the online communities of the company's you work with?

Are you aware of any Ruby on Rails based branded community platforms?

Great post.

I really appreciate the effort you put into condensing these take-aways from the conference. Very helpful. The event sounds amazing and we (MomFaves) will make an effort to be there next year.

Thanks again.

BTW - we heard of your agency as a result of your recent "State of Online Branded Communities" report. I believe that is the first report of it's kind, is that right?
